Travel Guidelines

From Wednesday 22 September 2021 onwards, fully vaccinated travellers from the United States, United Kingdom, and other “very high-risk” areas, no longer need to go into quarantine. Proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test result are required to enter the Netherlands.
Heat Exchanger World and our suppliers and venue partner MECC Maastricht, together have vast experience in organizing events under highly varying circumstances. Your health, security, and well-being are always our highest priority.
During The Heat Exchanger World Conference & Exhibition 2021, full compliance with covid-19 regulations will be assured; we will adhere to all official government and local authority guidance, as well as any venue or location-specific regulations to guarantee your well-being and to ensure your participation is in a safe and secure environment.
Venue Entrance Guidelines
All participants of The Heat Exchanger World Conference & Expo 2021 in attendance at MECC Maastricht [suppliers, visitors, exhibitors, conference delegates, speakers, sponsors, press and staff] must follow all posted instructions in order to attend The Heat Exchanger World Conference & Exhibition 2021, namely:
Vaccinations & Testing
All persons entering the conference & exhibition halls must have daily proof of
- being fully vaccinated
- OR proof of a *negative Covid-19 test result PCR or Rapid Antigen Test (within 24 hours).
- OR proof that they have recovered from COVID-19 within the past six months
EU citizens can show the NL DCC app to verify their vaccination or negative test. Citizens from outside the EU can bring in their own documentation showing proof of vaccination or recent test. UK citizens can show the NHS COVID Pass via the NHS app.
Rapid-result antigen tests (results in 15 minutes) and PCR tests (results in 24 hours) will be available at the MECC and in various locations throughout Maastricht, if needed.
Testing Facilities at the MECC:
Two test facilities are available at MECC Maastricht. Both offer Rapid Antigen test if needed for entering the Heat Exchanger World Conference & Exhibition 2021 and the PCR test which may be for both entrance and/or return travel documentation
The Rapid Antigen test provides results within 15 minutes. The PCR test results are provided within 24 hours.
We recommend you make reservations in advance to avoid delays and waiting times.

Access to this service is in close proximity to the main Conference & Exhibition entrance so convenient for all visitors.
Signage from the parking areas to both Test Centres will be visible on site.

Currently the Netherlands Government offer Rapid Antigen testing to access events for free
The test can only be booked beginning two weeks in advance via https://www.testenvoortoegang.org/.
You will need to include the postal code of the area you want to get tested in as: 6229GT for MECC.
Venue
Within the venue, MECC is committed to providing everyone a safe environment that aligns with expert protocols to combat COVID-19. These have been developed by in-house and outside experts in food and water safety, hygiene and infection prevention, logistics and operations. MECC will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that the most up to date standards are met to ensure the health and safety of all within the venue.
On-Site Safety Measures
- Hand sanitation stations will be provided throughout the exhibition hall and conference areas
- Wearing masks within the venue is not obligatory but welcome on a voluntary basis
- Exhibition aisles and gangways are designed to meet capacity & spacing guidelines and to reduce congestion
- Conference room layouts and seating will meet the government rules and regulations
- Furniture placement in common areas will be redesigned to maximise physical distancing
On-site Cleaning
- Exhibitors are encouraged to maintain a clean environment on their stands.
- Common-area cleanliness guidelines & protocols will be reviewed daily
Food & Beverage Service
- Catering areas will follow government guidelines.
- All catering areas, bars and service staff will have sanitizing stations, gloves, waste bins and dry paper towels.
